The client gets quickly a basic site - he can use it and learn what extensions he needs - then he hires developers to build them.<br /><br />@Robin - sure, I am still at the basic thigns with Catalyst::Elements, but eventually I would like to build a basic CMS with it.zbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04636763782334128869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36345871.post-58532838509017354192009-07-09T07:17:09.969-07:002009-07-09T07:17:09.969-07:00@Kiffin: Because it's a good base to build wha...@Kiffin: Because it's a good base to build what you want. As a framework it gives you a lot of leeway to do exactly what you want without being encumbered by a crufty API. In many ways it is very similar to Catalyst, but allows end users to build it via the web browser instead of having to work on the command line. That means that you can build what you want by yourself and hire a consultant when it gets a bit too advanced to do in-house.Robin Smidsrødhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00814818213184105578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36345871.post-7683854592427569112009-07-09T07:05:56.643-07:002009-07-09T07:05:56.643-07:00I must admit that I have been thinking about makin...I must admit that I have been thinking about making a general purpose CMS (similar in concept to Drupal) for perl that takes a minimalist approach. If you're into talking about it a bit more you can find me on irc.perl.org as robinsmidsrod. I'd love some collaboration on the idea.Robin Smidsrødhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00814818213184105578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36345871.post-27650131952230449632009-07-09T06:35:34.967-07:002009-07-09T06:35:34.967-07:00So if as you claim Drupal is such a 'ready-mad...So if as you claim Drupal is such a 'ready-made solution', why has a culture of tens of thousands of third-party consultants arisen out there in order to develop tailor-made variations for the eager customers.Kiffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05966139410583633418noreply@blogger.com
